Blade

Blade is a stylish premium segment hatchback. The car was launched in December 2006, and became an instant hit. It combines power, style and performance in a small sized hatch. Blade is sort of an improved version of the Auris small car.

Blade was produced as a premium hatchback for high class adults and people in mid twenties who want to make a style statement with a hatch and want the luxury of a sedan. The car come with a drop dead styling, performance and safety with comfort that can beat a luxury sedan. The design is sporty with an aggressive look, conveying a message that it is a high performer. The internal furnishing is of high quality and every attention to detail is given.

The Blade comes with a power packed, 2AZ-FE, 2.4 lr DOHC engine with VVT-i technology. The engine gives a power of 165 bhp at 6000rpm and torque of 224Nm at 4000 rpm. That gives the power of a Camry sedan to the smaller Blade hatchback. The transmission is the high performance Super CVT-i gb, which offers almost unlimited gear ratios in auto mode. A manual version will have the Sports Sequential Shiftmatic mode of the gearbox with 7 predefigned gears. The car comes with front wheel drive as well as an option of 4 wheel version.

Apart from these the the 2007 Blade comes equipped with a variety of gadgets and safety features such as VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), TRC (Traction Control), front and side airbags, driver’s seat SRS knee airbag , Eco-VAS (Eco-Vehicle Assessment System), large-diameter disk brakes, double wishbone suspension, HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), Intelligent Parking Assist system, Smart Entry & Start, power adjustable driver’s seat, etc.
